  • 1999      George H. Bryan: George was recognized for work on the National Forecasting Contest, in particular, for setting up the Web site for it; help in installing MM5 in the State College office of the NWS; and for appreciation for his ready willingness to help students and faculty who need his assistance.)
  • 2001      Robert E. Hart
  • 2002      Robert E. Hart: Bob was recognized for playing a prominent role in facilitating general science education of Penn State students through his tireless and high-quality support of the department's new e-education course, Meteo 101, "Understanding Weather Forecasting."  He provided quality weather maps for invaluable case studies that have used throughout the course.  He has provided excellent additions to his eyewall web pages that have been used as resources for the course, in particular the European maps of station models that have helped students forecast in Europe.
  • 2003     Brian Carcione and Steven Seman: These students were recognized for playing a prominent role in facilitating the general-science education of Penn State students through their tireless and high-quality support of the dpeartment's new e-education course, Meteo 101: Understanding Weather Forecasting.
  • 2004      Samuel M. Perugini: Sam was recognized for his passion for meteorology and his enthusiasm. His students are drawn to his personal approach to meteorology and his belief in the integrity of the science. He possesses a thorough understanding of the subject and instills a love of learning in those he teaches.
  • 2005      Amy Huff: Amy was recognized for her tireless contributions to the physical meteorology lab courses, Meteo 445 and Meteo 446. Her efforts to improve the laboratory exercises, the student preparation of the laboratory reports, and the room in which the courses are taught are greatly appreciated by Meteorology faculty, staff, and students alike. All of these endeavors required her to invest considerable time and effort, but result in a greater understanding of atmospheric measurements by our students.
  • 2007      Ben Root: Ben was recognized for his tireless efforts in providing computer advising help to the studetns who took Meteo 473, Application of Computers to Meteorology, in Fall 2006, as well as his efforts in providing exceptional help to the department's studetns through the sixth-floor Computer Help Desk. All of these endeavors required Ben to invest considerable time and effort, but they resulted in the students obtaining a better understanding of how to use comptuers to help them solve meteorological problems.
  • 2008      Aaron Bilby: Aaron was recognized for his efforts in helping students who took Meteo 003 in the fall semester. Recognition was for the enthusiastic teaching methods he employed, together with the extra labs that he devised that helped the students to better understand some of the difficult subject matter. He always went beyond what was asked to help the students and in doing so, fostered an excellent learning environment for them. The students appreciated his efforts so much that on their own initiative, they relayed to a faculty member how pleased they were to be taught by him.
